Mohamed Salah's future at Liverpool is set to be the talk of the transfer window for the second successive summer.

The Reds held firm against big-money offers from Saudi Arabia for their Egyptian talisman last year but interest has refused to wane.

The forward has scored 24 goals and provided 13 assists in 41 games in all competitions this season but has struggled for form of late.

The 31-year-old missed a large chunk of 2024 due to AFCON and then a troublesome injury and has since been dropped by Jurgen Klopp.

The pair had a heated exchange as Salah prepared to come on in the Reds' 2-2 draw at West Ham recently.

Further question marks were also raised around his future following his comments in the mixed zone after the game, telling the media 'if I speak, there will be fire'.

So with just one year remaining on his current contract, here's what we know about whether Salah will stay to lead the Arne Slot era.

Will Salah leave Liverpool?

As it stands, Saudi Pro League chiefs' hopes of prising Salah away from Liverpool are fading, talkSPORT understands.

talkSPORT has revealed how the Reds were bracing themselves for a fresh approach from a Saudi side after rejecting an offer of more than £100million from Al Ittihad last year.

Salah remains among their chief targets to lure to the Saudi Pro League and follow in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo and co.

Liverpool legend Graeme Souness had even tipped Salah to make the move to Saudi this summer, believing he has had his 'head turned'.

An offer - lower than the original bid - is being primed by the Saudis of around £70m plus bonuses in case he becomes available this summer.

However, it is understood that Saudi chiefs' hopes of landing him in 2024 are diminishing, and there is an acceptance that Salah is likely to stay at Liverpool for another season.

Liverpool are also confident Salah will extend his stay at Anfield, with incoming boss Slot keen for him to remain a key part of the team.

What sparked Klopp bust-up?

Salah's row with Klopp at the London Stadium sparked doubts over his future but talkSPORT understands Liverpool are unconcerned the incident will change much, especially given the latter's imminent departure from Anfield.

While unconfirmed, reports emerged that Salah was unhappy at being left out of the starting XI and his lack of interaction towards his manager when he was subbed on caused the dispute.

Klopp had shaken hands and embraced fellow substitutes Darwin Nunez and Joe Gomez having only received a half-hearted fist bump with his star attacker.

Speaking after the game, Klopp said: "We spoke about it in the dressing room, but it’s done for me. That’s it."

Asked if Salah was okay with the situation, Klopp added: "That was my impression, yes."

Salah has been key to Klopp's success at Liverpool, scoring 210 goals in 346 games since signing from Roma in 2017.
