The club have stated that this is due to the pitch being waterlogged.

In a statement shared on their website, the club wrote: "Crawley Town Football Club is disappointed to announce that this afternoon's Sky Bet League Two Play-Off Semi-Final first leg has been postponed due to a waterlogged surface at the Broadfield Stadium.

"Details of a rearranged fixture will be released as soon as possible."

Meanwhile, MK Dons' statement read: "MK Dons' Play-Off first leg fixture against Crawley Town at Broadfield Stadium has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

"More details will follow in due course."

The clubs have since confirmed the tie will now take place a day later on Tuesday 7 May at 19:30.

The second leg will also take place a day later than originally scheduled on Saturday 11 May at 19:45. Tickets for both fixtures will remain valid for the re-arranged dates.

700 MK Dons fans were set to travel to the game on Monday, with many supporters already on their way to the fixture.

"Completely pathetic from everyone involved. What a farce," one away supporter wrote on X, responding to Crawley's annoucement.

Meanwhile, another fan commented: "Play off semi postponed, wild. First I've ever seen that happen!"

Crawley, who secured the final play-off spot by finishing 7th on the final day, and fourth-place MK were set to play the reverse leg on Thursday May 9 at 20:00.

The final at Wembley is still set for Sunday May 19 at 13:00.

That leaves little time for the rescheduled fixture to be put in place and played in what is already a tight time frame.

The other play-off semi final first leg between Crewe and Doncaster is still set to go ahead later on Monday at 17:30.

Their reverse fixture at the Keepmoat Stadium is scheduled to be played on Friday May 10.
