Nottingham Forest one of multiple Championship clubs keen on Premier League winning midfielder

According to Sky Sports, Nottingham Forest manager Martin O’Neill wants to sign midfielder Andy King on loan from Forest’s East Midlands rivals Leicester City.

Nottingham Forest are believed to be one of many clubs keen to bring midfielder Andy King in on loan from Leicester City for the rest of the season, Sky Sports are reporting.

A host of unnamed Championship clubs have been credited with interest in the Welshman as Championship clubs look to get deals done with the January transfer deadline coming closer and closer.

It was reported that West Brom were keeping tabs on King in December, but it is unknown if they are still looking at him as Darren Moore looks to reinforce his midfield.

Apart from six years in the academy of Premier League giants Chelsea from 1998 to 2004 and a half a season loan spell with Swansea City last season, King has spent his entire career with Leicester City.

King has played a massive 375 games for Leicester City since making his professional debut for The Foxes in 2006.

The Welshman impressed in the youth side in the early stages of his Leicester career, scoring eight goals in 21 appearances in the 2006/07 season. King made 11 Championship appearances in the following season as Leicester were relegated to League One.

In League One, King became a mainstay in the side, making 45 League appearances as The Foxes finished top of the pile. The midfielder has been a fixture in the side ever since, helping Leicester win the Championship and the Premier League since.

However, the football he has been playing this season has been with the reserves in the Premier League 2. With King on the lookout for first team football, he could be set for a loan move to the Championship.
