It's brutally simple for Town. They must beat Wolves today if they are to keep alive any genuine hopes that they could yet pull off a great escape.
As if you needed reminding, Wolves are nine points ahead - effectively ten due to goal difference - with just eight games left and only 24 points up for grabs.
Fail to beat Wolves today and Town are as good as relegated.
But win and the gap closes to six points, with Town riding their first back-to-back winning streak of the season heading into the last seven games...
Town's last seven are: Chelsea (A), Arsenal (H), Newcastle (A), Everton (A), Brentford (H), Leicester (A) and West Ham (H).
Wolves' are: Spurs (H), Man Utd (A), Leicester (H), Man City (A), Brighton (H), Crystal Palace (A), Brentford (H).
A reminder that, when Leicester City pulled off their great escape back in 2014-15, they won seven of their last nine games to stay up.
Of course, they then went on to win the Premier League the following season. But let's not run before we can walk...
Jorgen Strand Larsen has three goals in his last two games (Image: PA) No Cunha, no problem
Wolves' leading scorer Matheus Cunha has proven to be dangerous in more ways than one this season - 15 goals and four assists, plus breaking a Town security guard's glasses in a post-match rampage following the reverse fixture and then headbutting Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez in the FA Cup.
That red card saw him earn a three game ban, which was extended to four by the FA - and means he misses today's game.
That initially felt like a real boost for the Blues, but sadly Wolves haven't really missed him. They're unbeaten in the three games without their star man (DWW), and are riding a two-match winning run as they head to Suffolk.
Indeed, over the last six top tier games, Wolves sit ninth in the form table - LWLDWW - ahead of the likes of Chelsea, Newcastle and Bournemouth.
And in Cunha's absence, big Norwegian striker Jorgen Strand Larsen has really stepped up, bagging three goals in their last two games.
So, Wolves may be without their danger man this afternoon - but Strand Larsen is still very much a danger.
Conor Townsend was superb at Bournemouth (Image: PA) Who plays?
For me, this is the hottest debate going into this game. Kieran McKenna hasn't named an unchanged side all season, and the Blues have had a quick turnaround from Wednesday night's win at Bournemouth.
But they are coming off an impressively resolute showing in that win, so should the Town boss just stick with the winning formula?
That XI featured the likes of Conor Townsend, Nathan Broadhead, Ben Johnson and Sam Morsy, none of whom are regular starters, in a back three/five system which McKenna probably doesn't want to play at home.
And there are, of course, solid arguments to freshen up the team with players like Jack Clarke, Jaden Philogene, Kalvin Phillips and, if fit, Leif Davis and Omari Hutchinson.
But for me, I'd like to see McKenna keeping faith with his winning blend. By all means tinker with the formation, but let's see a winning side go again.
Town have struggled for cohesion and momentum all season. Surely it makes sense to stick with what they built together on Wednesday night? There will still be plenty of options to switch things up off the bench if needed.
As ever, we'll find out at 1.45pm.
Town fans celebrate at Bournemouth - the home crowd will be key today (Image: PA Sport) Prediction
Town's home form has been awful this season. One win on home turf is just not good enough to keep you in any league, let alone the best one on the planet.
And games like this in Suffolk, against a foe they are expected to have a reasonable chance of beating, have usually seen Town fall flat. So the record suggests that the Blues may come up short today.
But I want to believe that McKenna and his team will have cooked up the perfect gameplan and, with fired-up players on the pitch and a raucous sold-out crowd behind them, Town will find a way to get this done.
I'm saying 3-1 Town. And then things could get really interesting!
